"The city vibrates as yellow cabs make their way across the avenues with horns beeping. Parked along the pavement on 2nd avenue, a magnificent American car straight out of an episode of Starsky and Hutch! On closer inspection, it is more than just a car, it represents a whole era... It throws us into the middle of the ‘70s, Afro cuts, leather jackets and flares. A radio on a pavement fills the street with R&B, some young people in the small street adjacent… And the Funky Car is there gleaming!" OL. March 2009

Oliver Lavielle is a fan of the period between the ‘30s and the ‘70s. His world is full of jazz, swing, blues, rock ‘n’ roll and a hint of disco. Untouched by the aesthetics of the period, his subjects are best expressed exclusively in black and white. These dynamic compositions are inspired by Hollywood style. As a world traveller, Asia and the United States have inspired him. As a private pilot, his aircraft photos express the intimate, special relationship that he has with his toys, as he likes to call them. Entering his world, is a little like travelling in time, and as Olivier is also a flight crew member for an airline company, only one thing remains to be said: "Welcome on board!"
