About this photograph :
Musée d'Art Moderne
Jean-Paul Espaignet studies the aesthetic of repetition in art. His work is built around the idea of series and assemblage. He questions the world of contemporary art in his assemblage. The photographer shoots in prestigious museum institutions. His subjects are as much works of art in themselves as the mode of expography and the contemplative visitors. This museum consideration, carried out by a force in the world of artistic creation, is a form of introspection.
About the artist :
Jean-Paul
Espaignet
After thirty years in
the world of photography, Jean Paul Espaignet is testing a new artistic method based
on analysis. He collects images and exploits this ‘raw material’ by eliminating
anything superfluous. He aims to extract the very essence of what forms a shot.
This approach forms refined creations where the emphasis of a subject or action
takes priority.
