Reignier
Bernard Reignier discovered photography thanks to an enthusiast whilst at secondary school. Since 2006, he has focussed on the representation of movement. Whilst the aim of photography is to depict a subject at a precise moment, he tests boundaries. During shooting, he mimics the gestures of painters and catches movement with his camera. This purely mechanical process tends to blur the subject which ends up dissolving into the background. This resulting movement leads to the colours being diluted. Like on an artist’s palette, they end up blending together and forming tint areas. Bernard Reignier is openly inspired by the impressionist movement by using the luminosity of form.
